Sally received her graduate training in Didier Stainier's lab at UCSF studying heart and digestive
tract formation in zebrafish. She then took the short trip across the Bay for some intensive training
in Drosophila genetics and cell biology in David Bilder's lab at UC Berkeley. Since joining the
faculty of The University of Chicago in 2008, her lab is taking a synergistic approach to the study
of organ morphogenesis using the best experimental attributes of both Drosophila and zebrafish.
The last name is not nearly as difficult to pronounce as it looks (bad'-oh-vin"-ack), but please
feel free to shorten it to “Sally Horne”.
